Power & Magic Press is an independent comics publisher in Portland, OR.

Our mission is the creative and economic empowerment of queer creators, creators of color, and creators at the intersections. The driving force behind P&M Press is Joamette Gil, a queer Afro-Cuban cartoonist and editor of the award-winning POWER & MAGIC: The Queer Witch Comics Anthology.

eManga is Digital Manga, Inc.'s own one stop online shop for manga, originally established back in 2008.

Providing manga via online streaming and a variety of downloadable formats, in 2018, eManga merged with DMI's print store - Akadot - to house everything in one place.

They stock a multitude of genres, from Action to Seinen, Mainstream, Slice of life, Drama, Romance and many more. Their library includes titles from Digital Manga's most popular imprints, as well as partnered publishers like Tezuka Productions, Media Factory and SoftBank Creative (Harlequin Romance manga). They also carry their own DMG imprint, which are series' localized by fans for fans.

Kickstarter helps artists, musicians, filmmakers, designers, and other creators find the resources and support they need to make their ideas a reality.

To date, tens of thousands of creative projects — big and small — have come to life with the support of the Kickstarter community.

A huge number of Kickstarter rewards include e-books, either as the main project outcome, or as a side-pledge for backers. Most are DRM-free.

Since our founding in 2014, we’ve sold over 8,000 books and raised over $90,000 on Kickstarter. We’ve been nominated for the Gene Day Award for excellence in self-publishing in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018, and were also nominated for the Canadian Science Fiction & Fantasy Associations Aurora Award in 2016.

Argyll Productions are a small press publisher based in Dallas, Texas, in the US who publish Science Fiction from the Margins.

We’re LGBTQ owned and operated, and since 2007 we have been publishing stories with queer characters for the furry community. Now we’re looking to bring our stories to the broader speculative fiction community and to find great works from anyone whose voices have been underrepresented in fiction.

Iron Circus Comics is Chicago’s largest alternative comics publisher.

Owned and operated by C. Spike Trotman, Iron Circus was founded in the spring of 2007 to publish strange and amazing comics, amplifying unheard and unique voices, and giving creators a fair deal.

A multi-award winning speculative fiction publisher based in Australia.

Coeur de Lion's works have won:

In 2014, they launched the free Dimension6 magazine, which

features the best new stories from established authors and fresh voices from Australia and overseas.

The Italian comic creation and shop site, Comics Fu, is currently in its pilot stage, but looks very promising for both comic readers and creators.

A platform which enables authors to distribute their digital comics directly to readers.

Creators set the price for their work, and get their own shop page. The site automaticaly generates multiple formats from uploaded files to suit every reader, and takes a fee from each transaction.

While it's currently in Italian, the founders have expressed their desire to support more languages. Keep an eye on the full launch of Comics Fu for some great deals.

Dynamite have a massive selection of comics. From Battlestar Galactica: Zarek to Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time, there's a range and depth to their collection. I'm going to dive into the Pathfinder titles and maybe some Bob's Burgers.

A part of OneBookshelf, DriveThru provide a number of online shops for digital comics, RPGs, fiction and card games.

Their comic shop is another place where the comic-hungry fan can discover titles from their favourite publishers. From 2000AD to White Wolf, there's plenty from across the genre spectrum, all in DRM-free PDF format.

The British comic book publisher, 2000AD have been providing DRM-free versions of their comics since 2007.

A great alternative to online comic services that don't let you download what you've bought. Along with the Rebellion bookshop they have your Dredd covered.

The Internet Archive offers over 12,000,000 freely downloadable books and texts.

There is also a collection of 550,000 modern eBooks that may be borrowed by anyone with a free archive.org account.

Lulu is a self-publishing and printing platform.

With only a few titles for sale, Hex Publishers made a name for themselves with their CyberWorld anthology.

"Hex Publishers is an independent publishing house proudly specializing in genre fiction: horror, science fiction, crime, dark fantasy, comics, and any other form that explores the imagination. Founded by writers, Hex values both the author and the reader, with an emphasis on quality, diversity, and voices often overlooked by the mainstream."

Hex also publish WORDS Zine, a free monthly fiction magazine.

They also sell bundles that include soundtracks and paperback/hardback + e-book combinations.

Regular DRM-free ebook, digital comic, and graphic novel bundles.

Humble are generaly known for their computer game bundles, but since digital files are digital files, they've moved into the ebook space.

Their regular bundles are usually themed around a particular topic, and charge a Pay What You Want model. There is usually a considerable discount of a few hundred pounds in buying a bundle over purchasing each book individually. Sometimes the bundle will be the only way to buy a DRM-free copy of a particular title.
